Hi, I'm Rachelle—the artist and practitioner behind Polaris Apothic. My work lives at the intersection of creativity, nature, spirituality and healing, and over time I've come to see these parts of my life as deeply connected. Whether I'm creating art or working with the body and nervous system, much of what I do comes back to the same thing: curiosity, connection, and learning to listen a little more closely.

Creative Arts

Creating art has been a passion of mine since childhood. Over the years, I have explored many different mediums, but eventually I found myself wanting to create something more intentional—work that carried meaning, story and purpose. This desire grew into the Dream Weavers, painted hides, rattles, pouches, crystal work and other pieces I create today.

Much of my inspiration comes from the natural world. I have always been fascinated by the stories surrounding animals, the simple lessons found in nature, and the sense of mystery and wonder that exists in the world around us. Learning more about my Métis and Celtic heritage has also become an important part of my journey, alongside exploring animism, traditional stories, symbolism, archetypes and spiritual practices. I approach these explorations with curiosity and respect, recognizing that every Nation and tradition carries its own teachings and protocols.

For me, this learning has become deeply intertwined with my artistic practice. Creating is a way of listening, learning and translating the things that move me into something tangible. I'm particularly drawn to working with natural and repurposed materials—hide, bone, feathers, wings, botanicals and crystals—and combining them with painting, beadwork and weaving. Each material carries its own history and character, and I love discovering how these elements can come together to tell a story.

Since stepping away from my career in Commercial Real Estate to devote more of my life to art, my creative practice has continued to evolve. I find myself constantly experimenting with new materials and techniques while allowing each piece to take its own direction.

Many of my works are accompanied by written stories that explore the symbolism, inspiration and intentions woven into their creation. My hope is that the art becomes more than an object—that it becomes a point of connection, reflection and story for the person who encounters it.

Healing Arts

My interest in the nervous system began through my own healing journey. Over the years, I worked with different therapists and counsellors and found a lot of value in talk therapy. It helped me understand and process what I had experienced, but I also began to notice that understanding something intellectually didn't always change the way my body responded to it. The memories could be understood, yet the physical reactions, familiar emotional loops and old patterns could still be there.

This led me to become increasingly curious about what we hold beyond the conscious mind. I began exploring the nervous system, somatic practices, fascia, subconscious patterns and the energetic aspects of healing. I came to believe that experiences we haven't fully processed can continue to influence how we respond to the world, even when we don't consciously understand why. From an energetic perspective, I also believe that the stories and patterns we carry have a way of repeating themselves until we are able to recognize, experience and move through them differently.

That raised an important question for me: how do we work with something we can't simply think our way through?

For me, working with the body changed the way I approached healing. Instead of only asking why I felt something, I began becoming curious about what was actually happening within my body and nervous system in the present moment. Somatic work offered me another way of understanding those patterns—not as something to fight against, but as something the body may be communicating.

In 2024, I began studying the healing arts with greater purpose and intention. I completed the 12-week Infinite Path with the Rainbow Medicine Collective, exploring shamanic practices, and received my Usui Reiki Levels I and II. In 2025, I began training in the Triple Vagal Method and received my practitioner certification in October of that year.

I believe healing doesn't happen only on an intellectual level. For me, it can involve the mind, body, nervous system, emotions and energetic self. These different layers of our experience are deeply interconnected, and learning to listen to them has become an important part of how I understand healing.

As a Triple Vagal Method Practitioner, I hope to offer others a space to explore that connection for themselves. Rather than deciding what your body needs, we work with what is arising in the present moment and listen to the information your system is giving us. I believe our bodies hold an incredible capacity for healing and that, with support, we can learn to access more of our own inner intelligence.

My role is to walk alongside you in that process—helping create the space for awareness, release and a deeper connection with yourself.
